Turks & Caicos Islands - Trip Reports

Beaches, Provo

My family and I just returned from Beaches in Turks and Caiocos Island. We left on Miami air out of JFK in New York. The flight was very pleasant on Miami air. They had goodies for the kids and an open bar on the plane. Also, they did your check in for Beaches on the plane. So when you reached the resort you just had to pick up your room key. Very easy!

All I can say that this resort in my eyes was 5 star! I can honestly say that I do not have any major complaints about our stay there. The room was clean. The resort had so much to offer. All their liquor was name brand. The food was not cheap at all. We did mostly the buffet breakfast and lunches. Dinner we had sit down service. There was buffet if you preferred that. The only bad meal we had was our second time at Scooners (the seafood rest.). The food was cold and the lobster was dried out. We ate there a couple of nights before at the early seating and the food was hot and great. I spoke to other people on the resort and they had the same complaint about that one resturant. But you know there are 8 more to choose from. Kimonos was awesome! The kids loved it and the waiters were so nice. The chefs also had a great personality. The service all over the resort was very pleasant. The bar service also great. The kids had fun getting their virgin pina coladas.

Every night after dinner we would skip dessert and go to the Paris area and have Cappucinos and fresh baked pastries. There is an outdoor theater where they have entertainment every night. The kids loved dancing under the stars.

On Wed. they had the locals come to the resort to sell their goods. I do have to say they are very over priced. They were selling very small items for very high prices. The gift shop was selling T-shirts cheaper. You cannot really chew them down either. If you want to shop go down to the coral reef and there is a lady named Stacy down there who sells t-shirts, jewelry, hand made items too. She is very very very very nice and resonable. We purchased almost all our stuff from her. She also braided our daughters hair. Her husband works as a chef in Kimonos. Super nice lady. So if you go down to the reef bring money with you.

This was our best vacation ever. It was nice not having to carry around cash with you. The people were so friendly and nice. I really really miss it. Will definately go back next year. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me at alysjack@optonline.net.

Thanks to Terri for this trip report ...
