Ecotourism

Known as the Spice Island, Grenada is renowned for the undamaged beauty of its rainforest, mountains and waterfalls. Aware of preserving this environment, Grenada is entering a tourism-enhanced project which will both protect the island and and allow visitors to enjoy this natural heritage.

The project includes the development of National Parks at Levera and Grand Etang, and the construction of an artificial coral reef. Further ongoing projects include the conservation of the leatherback sea turtle and a monkey observation program. Whale and dolphin watching and diving expeditions are also popular.

Also, as Grenadians are determined not to let their island be spoilt, no building can exceed the height of a palm tree.
