Anguilla - Trip Reports

Rendezvous Bay Hotel

Our family had a wonderful 10 night stay at RBH from late March through early April.

This was our 4th trip to the beautiful island of Anguilla. In previous visits we have stayed at Carimar, Cap Juluca and Cuisinart. This year our family of four had a 2 bedroom suite with a kitchen on the second floor of the 2 story beach front building. The unit had new furniture and bedspreads, good a/c and plenty of room. We had a very comfortable King bed in the large main room, a small room with a double bed for the kids, small well equipted kitchen, bathroom and dressing area. There was a dining table in the unit as well as on the covered deck. There were also 2 chaise lounges on the deck as well. The view of mile long Rendezvous Bay was incredible from the first morning light to the great sunsets over the western part of the beach.

The hotel is not about glitz and glamour instead it is a relaxing, quiet, unassuming small hotel with very reasonable rates. You couldn't get any closer to the gorgeous beach which was lined with strap lounges and market umbrellas.

The view of St. Martin was incredible both day and night. There were kayaks and sailfishes to use on the calm water. There is no pool but we did not miss it at all. There was a mix of families and couples when we were there. Enough space so no one was to close by.

We woke to breakfast on our balcony either from room service or self made (market close by). Cocktails watching the sunset before dinner was our favorite time. The hotels restaurant Cedar Grove was the best meal we had in 10 days of restaurant dining (and we hit most of them).

My children loved the hotels resident golden "Earl" and he was found most mornings outside our door waiting for the kids to get up. Walking RB every morning never got old. There were lunch dining choices further down the beach or get in your car to check out Anguillas other beaches and lunch spots. We go the caribbean and especially Anguilla because we love the beach.

RBH takes you back to a simplier time with a true island feel and the convenience of walking out of your room onto the most incredible beach. For a relaxing vacation on an icredible beach on my favorite caribbean island I would highly recommend Rendezvous Beach Hotel.

Thanks to Mary Ella (Geneva, IL) for this trip report ...
