just back [14/12/2003] from 3 weeks at Rex Papillon.this was our first visit to St. Kitts. Absolutely wonderful. What a beautiful place and such welcoming people.

Huge thanks to D and to Mr.X {hope to visit again,so keep the Caribs & wine good and cold}.
Only downside was caused by our Kantours rep..We had booked a rainforest tour with her for Monday 1/12/2003 that was to be led by Oliver Spencer. Pick up time of 9a.m. came & went.By 9.30 the rep.called Oliver's home. She said that his wife said he had been at Rex at 7a.m.to collect a party for a volcano hike. Oliver was obviously not going to show. We asked for a refund which we collected that evening.
We asked the rep what had gone wrong but she could give no explanation. She refused to let us speak to Oliver or to give us his home number. She did say that she would keep trying to find out what went wrong and would tell us next day.
Wednesday evening no news. We tracked the rep down and she told us that Oliver had had an emergency. We were unhappy with this response and the rep told us that she would ask her area manager to call us next day. We are still waiting for that call.
We still do not know weather Oliver or the rep messed up our booking. Either way the service from Kantours was very,very poor.
Next time, we will book direct with the guide.
P.S. Many thanks to Greg for the excellent rainforest walk and for spending so much time trying to arrange and re-arrange the volcano hike--perhaps the weather will be a little kinder next time.
