Cuba - Trip Reports

Superclubs Breezes Jibacoa

Spent the week of April 18th at Jibacoa.

This was our 2nd time at this resort and we were again very pleased with everything. The resort is beautiful and clean. The beach/sand might not be as nice as Varadero but the awesome snorkelling, and diving easily makes up for it. The food is very good and I'm an extremely picky eater. I was always able to find something to eat. I did find the food very bland so I was always adding extra salt and pepper. We loved Martino's - book early to ensure you get a reservation.

We like this resort because it's isolated and not stuck in the middle of a strip of resorts. It attracts primarily an older crowd (30+) which we fit nicely into. There are lots of fun activities to keep you busy and tours to do, although the latter were not all that impressive. Most of the staff were great.

Our only complaint was the very unaccommodating World of Vacations rep - Martha, and the grumpy bartenders in the Piano Bar and Beach Hut. Smiling wasn't in their capability.

If you'd like specific questions answered, feel free to email me (dana_burt_kadri@hotmail.com).

Thanks to Dana (Calgary, Alberta) for this trip report ...
