
There is nothing remotely like the party scene common in other parts of the Caribbean. Nevertheless, there is no shortages of bars in any Belizean town, usually with live music; nearly every town has a dance or two on weekends, where you can try to do the punta - a difficult pelvic gyration and foot stomp that relates to the equally frenetic punta music.
Belize City rocks to the sound of the Messengers at the Calypso Bar & Grill at the Ramada Royal Reef Resort & Marina. The Bellevue and the Ramada are the places for dancing. For showcasing your singing talents, try karaoke at the Radisson and Biltmore.
San Pedro is packed with bars, in every resort and all around the town - just walk along the docks and pick one that seems lively. Many have different theme nights; in some places, a game is played where patrons bet on a chicken strutting over a large board, trying to guess where it is going to poop.
